Intermediate GM System
The Intermediate GM System lets your students perform more in-depth experiments. The system includes the Geiger-Mueller Counter, TEL ST360; GM Tube with Stand, TEL GM35; a 5 source set, TEL RSS-5; a set of 20 absorbers, TEL RAS20; USB connecting cable as well as an experiments manual and teachers guide on CD. Additionally, complete computer control of both data acquisition and the ST360 are available via the USB or serial ports. The software provided allows real time data collection with automatic transfer to a spreadsheet file. Since you have complete computer control of data collection rates as well as the Geiger-Mueller Counter, you can create your own experiments. Through the spreadsheet functions, you can analyze data, set up and plot graphs and print a hard copy of the screen. In addition, the computer screen displays of all the ST360 functions including analog emulation of the ratemeter mode.

ST360 Geiger-Mueller Counter Specifications

Inputs: BNC connector for GM, MHV for scintillation detector.
High Voltage: 0 to +1200 volts, digitally selectable in 10 volt increments via hardware or 5 volt increments with included software.
Display: 6-decade LED, 1 in. numerals. Displays counts, time, preset time, CPM, CPS, alarm level, and high voltage.
Audio: Digital volume control of countrate and alarm point.
Modes: Count for preset time preset number of runs, counts/min., counts/sec., set alarm level (in CPS), set high voltage 0-1200v, start/stop/reset, data transfer As well as a programmable pause time between runs.
Timing/Counting Intervals: Preset time in (seconds) 1-9, 10-90, 100-900, 1K-9K, 10K-90K, 100K-900K, preset number of runs, CPM, CPS, set alarm (in CPS).
Data-Link: RS-232 serial port for PC and MAC plus a USB port.
Power: Input 9.0 volts DC, at 500mA from AC line/charger supplied. Specify 110-120, 220-240 VAC at time of order.
Software Supplied: A LABLINK software package for PC's and MAC is included with the TEL ST360. This bidirectional data link offers full control of all the MODE functions mentioned above. The software also provides a real-time display of a simulated analog ratemeter with auto-ranging, or a digital ratemeter in CPM or CPS, count, elapsed time, preset count, preset time, high voltage setting, acquisition time, and run number. Data is loaded into spreadsheet compatible files for transfer to many common spreadsheet programs.

This is a complete absorber set. It has 20 calibrated absorbers ranging from 5mg/cm² to 7200 mg/cm² for use with a, b and g attenuation studies. Absorbers are made from plastic, aluminum and lead.
