DIFFUSION CLOUD CHAMBER: Compton Scattered Electrons
INTRODUCTION | LOW-ENERGY BETA PARTICLES | PHOTOELECTRONS | ALPHA PARTICLES | CORONA ELECTRODE

Compton Scattered Electrons
A Cesium-137 source (included with chamber) placed outside the cloud chamber. This produced 667 keV gamma rays, which interacted with the air filling the chamber. The most common mode of interaction under these conditions is Compton scattering.
